QUICK REMINDER-NEXT CHAPTER MEETING-6PM THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 22, 2016 BLACKHORSE PUB 4429 KINGSTON PIKE KNOXVILLE, TN

Please join us at the Blackhorse Pub as we welcome special guest John Thurman. John joined TU in 1970 and has served in many capacities as a chapter president and board member. John holds a bachelor of science in forestry from Iowa Sate University and a masters in wild life ecology from Purdue University. He worked in environmental quality and compliance for TVA, but found his true vocation after retiring as he became an aquatic entomologist, that means bugs for you and me. He continues consulting work with many agencies on many different water sheds.

Those of you who have fished with John know of his passion for fly fishing, helping TU and especially his work with the Clinch River TU and Great Smokies Trout Camp. Whenever someone asks a question about bugs we always say "Have you asked John? You know the Bug Dude!"

If you want to learn what you are really imitating when they tell you at the fly shop to tie that fly on, come out and hear John Thurman. Ask those questions from someone who knows the real answer. I asked John what he wanted me to call his presentation, he gave me a scientific title which I shortened to John Thurman, "Close Encounters of the Bug Kind.
