Now to the future, I announced at the chapter meeting we were going to shake off the winter blues at our next meeting in January. We are happy to present our first annual “IRON MAN FLY CONTEST”! Think fun, rowdy ruckus and you will be close to the description of this meeting. This may be the first one held in our area and I know for this chapter. Each participant will make a small registration fee ($20-25), and take part in a fly tying contest like no other. The event is made up of three rounds to determine the winner and the best part is pros and beginners are on equal footing. The first round they will receive a small bag of totally ridiculous items and they have fifteen minutes to whip up their fly using those items Round two gets crazier, can you say blindfolded! Here’s your chance to prove you can really tie or just plain lucky. Round three is a mystery that will be revealed that night.

This event will be open all the TU chapters and has limited seating, register early when it starts! The winners can win prizes for various categories; best fly, worst fly, and fly most likely to catch a fish! The fun part for the crowd is yes they can trash talk, yell and whoop at the participants while they do it! The best part is those registration fees go to help our chapter budget and support when we have requests for help from other groups or events.  A good cause and big fun; a winner for all stay tuned for more details in December!
