LETTER FROM PRESIDENT

Letter From President

We are now in the full swing of summer and the long days are perfect for fishing and outdoor activities. Get out there and enjoy it!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the "Fly Fishing Film" tour at Yee-Haw Brewery. It was a picture-perfect weather day, and the facility is one of Knoxville's latest additions to the Central Ave growth surge.

Trout Camp starts next week, and the campers are gearing up for a great week in the Smokies. Our chapter's sponsored angler this year is Peyton Bryson and I know he is ready to go. We wish the best to all the campers and volunteers that are attending this year!

Our next meeting is Thursday July 20th, 2023, in conjunction with the Little River TU chapter. It is our annual picnic at River John's, located less than 20 minutes from downtown Knoxville. River John's is one of the most unique places in our area and is literally an island perched on the edge of the Little River. The covered picnic pavilion is just one feature of the island as are fishing and kayaking opportunities.

We are also announcing the official date for the "Battle of Gatlinburg 2023" One Fly Tournament this year is Saturday October 7 in downtown Gatlinburg, TN. America's most unique tournament featuring over $3,000 in cash and prizes right in the center of town. It is a fast 3-hour shootout where the difference between winning and losing is mere inches. Registration will open in August so stay tuned for the notice.
