LITTLE RIVER CLEAN-UP SATURDAY MAY 2, 2015- 9:00 AM METCALF BOTTOMS-GREAT SMOKY PARK

Please add this your schedule, a great event and big fun I promise! This event is done every year by the Little River TU chapter and ends the clean-up with a great cook-out. Many of us than wind up  fishing  the park, if you have ever wanted to ride in a park truck, wear an orange vest and actually do hands on work with the Park service this is it. If you are lucky some of the folks may even show you a fishing hole you have never tried before, I have done this the last few years and have met some really great people who have become fishing buddies.

"The Little River Clean-up started in 1993 as our first Chapter project. We meet each year at  Metcalf Bottoms picnic area (9:00AM) in late March or early April  as weather and Park Fisheries schedule permits. Volunteers divide in to teams and are assign a section of stream along Little River road.  We usually start at the park boundary in Townsend and work our way to Elkmount campground. We try to eat a lunch around noon that is provide by our chapter members. That leaves the rest of the day to enjoy fishing."
