SATURDAY-MAY 9-CHAPTER MEETING DAY ON THE WATER-MILLERS ISLAND-TIME TO BE ANNOUNCED

UPDATES- CHAPTER MEETING-MAY 9, 2015

The meeting on Saturday May 9th  is on and the weather looks to be co-operating,  thank goodness! I will be sending an update again on Friday, I have talked to River Release management and the schedule shows minimum release before 10am. All this means is they could start with a 1 or 2 generation or none at all! I told them of our plans and they said check back tomorrow and maybe they could give me a clue to actual time of flow and amount. I am planning on setting up at Millers at 10AM, then that leaves the option of fishing if they do not release water until later, to fish and lunch around 11:30/noon and even if they do release we just caravan down to the church/jail area in Clinton and fish after lunch, which even with a 10AM release the water does not get there until 2-3 pm depending on number of generators. We will have hot dog's and fixins, just bring a rod and your gear, and a chair, and if someone wants to put their kayak we will get them back to Millers Island whether they are running to Peach Orchard or the jail area. If someone has an additional pop-up canopy please bring so we can have in addition to the ones I have. This is a great chance for those who have never fished the Clinch to learn it and maybe be shown some secret holes! we have opened this to all the area TU chapters so hopefully we have a great turnout from everyone.  Bring some sun block, a favorite beverage and come on out, the weather is going to be hot & sunny, we will throw some dogs on the grill and make a day of just “Fishin with no Mission!”

This day is just about fellowship and fun, and maybe for those who have never fished the Clinch a great way to get that first trip in with people who know it. We may be able to have some fly tyers demonstrate and I am trying to see if I can get some boats  available for those who may not want to wade but still wet a line. If you have not been to Millers Island in a while, it has been upgraded on the riverbank and much easier to wade or launch  a boat.

So plan the day, I will keep you posted on time, so we have time to fish, grill,  and chill, call me or text at 556-3141.  If any questions or directions, be sure and leave your name and number and I will return your call or text. You also can reply to my email here or this email and I will receive.
